Rec Rescue Diver

Certified with ISO 24801-2, equivalent to:

- RSTC Entry Level Rescue Diver.

Once you do the theory and practices in the sea, and pass the evaluation,

you will sign the COURSE DECLARATION FORM

and your instructor will certify you as a PTRD Rescue Scuba Diver, which accredits you to:

  • Diving with a 1 Star Diver in shallow water that does not require decompression.

  • dive within the following parameters, unless you have received additional training or are accompanied by a dive leader:

  • up to a maximum recommended depth of 40 meters with another diver of your same or higher level;

  • using only air as respiratory gas

  • for diving in environments where it is possible to ascend directly and vertically to the surface. (Aquatic plants are not considered an obstruction to ascent);

  • for diving only when adequate surface support is available;

  • dive in conditions that are equal to or better than the conditions in which you were trained.

If you are unable to successfully complete any of the sections, discuss with your instructor the options available, whether it is certification of a lower degree or the possibility of completing your course at another centre.

PTRD, in compliance with the most restrictive legislation, requires the participants of its courses the following requirements prior to its start:

  • Successfully completed and certified as a PTRD Open Water Diver or equivalent

  • The student shall have proof of CPR and first aid training prior to becoming certified as a rescue diver. Preferably, CPR and first aid training occurs before or in conjunction with the PTRD Rec Rescue Diver training.

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is recommended.

  • Photocopy of your valid ID card or passport

  • Parental authorization for children under 18 years of age

  • Minimum age 15 years (for younger ages we have other programs).

  • Fill in the students’ sheet and information about the acknowledgment and assumption of risk prior to or during the first-class meeting.
